FAQs
Find answers to common questions about our services.
What is a sworn translation?
It is a process that consists of confirming, before a public official, that the translation of a document (such as deeds, certificates, contracts, passports or driving licenses) corresponds exactly to the original.
This allows the translation to have the same legal validity as the original document.
Legalisation or apostille?
Legalisation is required for documents drawn up in Italy that are to be used abroad.
This process serves to officially confirm the authenticity of the signature on the document and that the person who signed it is authorised to do so.
For countries that have signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, the required procedure is the apostille, which is a simplified form of legalisation.
Do I need to have the original document in my possession to obtain a certified translation?
No, a photocopy or scan of the document is enough.
However, we recommend that you check with the organisation or authority requesting the translation to see if there are specific instructions in this regard.
How does the proofreading service work?
If you have a document that’s already been translated, please send us both the translation and the original document. We will evaluate it and have it checked by a professional, who will perform any corrections that are required.
